Parental Filter Why?
Parental Filter was made because their were no truly freeware parental filters available. A product like this supersedes monetary gains. Asking for money for a product such as this exploits the situation further in my view. The target age range is approximately up to 14 years of age. Parental Filter attempts to provide protection against the unintentional viewing of inappropriate material, although usage may vary at your discretion.
Quick Start
When you start Parental Filter it should be ready to go to work. Their are only two things to remember.
Press F9 to hide Parental Filter and Press F10 to show it again. If you have children that will try to disable Parental Filter, then this product may not help you. It is fairly easy for those who know to disable. Parental Filter was never intended as policing tool and we stand against forcing censorship on people. It is a serious issue when adults try and censor material for other adults, but when it comes to children we have to make the right choice for a better world and a better future for all involved. Parental Filter provides and secures an Internet surfing experience that is free of objectionable content. You have the power to define objectionable content.

Thankyou for the feedback you are providing on Parental Filter. My email is always available do not hesitate to use it. There have been many improvements to Parental Filter. It is many folds better than the previous version. Their have been some concerns about Parental Filter displaying objectionable words too easily. They are now slightly more hidden. You use the Master Database Viewer to view the database. Their have also been many concerns about false blocking, an exclusion list facility has been provided. Note: Stability may be still be an issue but the situation is slowly improving. The freewebs site has been frozen due to excessive bandwidth and we got burned losing about 200+ visitors a day. Much of the improvements suggested through feedback has been answered in this version. Such features as,

  1. Access could be gained by typing URL's into Windows Explorer bug fixed.
  2. Drag and drop, to import a list.
  3. Many 0.1.7 bug fixes.

  3. Interface enhancement redesign.

  5. Fancy new buttons that can display pictures.

This is what we are working on for the future, the following may or may not make into 0.1.8.

1) Protection against the possible corruption of files.
2) Test MDV make sure its functioning OK.
3) When I shutdown the computer it tells that there is a program that couldn't be closed and .......I press END NOW.
4) Whenever I have the Parental Filter application running, my default home page gets changed from msn.com to google.com.
5) How do I enable parental filter to filter email web pages?
6) Remote configuration of the proxy.
7) Test Windows 95.
8) Unicode issue.
9) Redirection for proxy.
10) Support for SBC Yahoo Browser.
11) Obsolete the uninstall previous version before installing a new one
12) CPU throttle upside down.
13) Merge databases. Save previous version.
14) THE PROXY IS USELESS UNLESS IT USE ANOTHER PROXY IN CHAIN. Proxy: Proxy conflicts with existing proxy. Needs ability to use another proxy, else I can't use that feature!
15) Disable proxy tampering at the client computer.
