Vincenzina “Vinci” Ganino ESCONDIDO – Vinci Ganino, 71, born Vincenzina Lorenti, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2011. She was born November 24, 1939 in Stamford, Connecticut. She lived in Escondido for 30 years. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed every moment that she spent with them. She was a natural in the kitchen cooking up good old Italian favorites and delicious desserts. She had a talent for gardening whether it be growing beautiful flowers or delicious fruits and vegetables. She loved to exercise, spend time with her grandchildren, test her luck at the local casino, and attend Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Vinci worked for Silk Screen Shirts for over 20 years; she retired in 2002. Vinci was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Rosario Ganino. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Raymond Sneary of Escondido; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Trish Ganino of Escondido, Franco and Ananda Ganino of Encinitas, and Steve and Rachel Ganino of Temecula; eight grandchildren, Mike, Jennifer, Desiree, Jacob, Raquel, Dante, Daniel, and Becca; two great- grandchildren, Serenity and Levi; nephew, Mike “Miguel” Fiare of Escondido; great-nephews, Austin and Colton; sisters, Theresa Spinelli of Escondido, Florence Labrandi of and Marie Lanterno of Conn.; and brother, Jimmy Lorenti of Florida. Her kind and loving spirit will be greatly missed by all but loved and remembered forever. A public viewing is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a Rosary being recited at 6 p.m., on Monday, June 20, at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary Chapel in Escondido. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 21st, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Escondido. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Sign the Guest Book online obits.nctimes.com
